Ingrid Kao
Keeping life open to more possibilities.
Between 22 and 29, I was a teacher — creating and teaching in parallel, focused on translating complex knowledge into forms that others could actually understand. That work built my ability to make abstract ideas concrete.
Ten years ago, I committed to a move into web engineering. I learned to define and break down problems — turning ambiguous requirements into something clear and workable, with a consistent emphasis on modular, reusable design.
These two seemingly different paths changed how I think about a career — no longer as a single fixed track, but as a structure that can be stretched, adjusted, and recombined.
In the second half of this year, I chose to step off the familiar path — using travel and a change of pace to take a fresh look at what work and living can be, integrating everything I've built so far in search of what I actually want to commit to long-term.
